Job Description

• Provide direct care to cardiovascular medical-surgical patients, including post-operative day one CABG, thoracotomy, and vascular surgery patients.
• Perform initial patient assessments upon admission and develop individualized plans of care based on patient and family needs.
• Implement and modify nursing interventions and patient care procedures according to continuous evaluation.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care for effective communication within the healthcare team.
• Conduct hourly rounding on patients to ensure safety and quality care.
• Maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
• Take responsibility for patient and employee safety by identifying and reporting safety hazards and incidents.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and patients, providing constructive feedback to support professional development.
• Fulfill all departmental competencies and proactively seek opportunities to assist internal and external customers.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Minimum 3 years of medical-surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification
