Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery (Travel)

Location: Morristown, New Jersey
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (7 AM - 7 PM)
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Job Summary

Provide competent nursing care in Labor & Delivery with a focus on patient assessment, clinical skills, documentation, professionalism, patient satisfaction, safety, and patient education. Deliver care appropriate to all stages of growth and development from pediatric to geriatric patients. Support perioperative and pre-admission testing processes as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough, systematic, and accurate patient assessments.
• Deliver direct patient care and demonstrate competent clinical skills, including emergency procedures and equipment use.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of nursing processes and patient progress, including patient education.
• Uphold professional practice standards and adhere to policies and procedures.
• Promote patient and family-centered care with courteous and positive communication.
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals, including Universal Protocol and patient identification using two identifiers.
• Use safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics.
• Individualize patient care based on surgical procedures and anesthesia types.
• Conduct pre-operative and postoperative assessments and education, involving patients and families.
• Support timely completion and evaluation of Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Jersey
• Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience, with experience within the last year
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Physical Requirements

• Must meet physical demands as defined by Occupational Safety/OMS standards.

Experience

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
