Job Description
- Provide direct care to cardiovascular medical-surgical patients, including post-operative day one care for CABG, thoracotomy, and vascular surgery patients.
- Perform initial patient assessments upon admission and develop, implement, and modify individualized plans of care.
- Utilize nursing process, current nursing trends, and technology to deliver patient care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
- Conduct hourly rounding on patients.
- Ensure patient and employee safety by identifying and reporting hazards and incidents.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Fulfill all departmental competencies and participate in professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
- Minimum of 3 years of medical-surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
