Description
Surgical Technologist Level 3
Location
Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Schedule
- 1st shift
- 40 hours per week
- 10 hours per day
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Job Summary
Works as part of the surgical team to support patient care in the intraoperative environment, maintain a sterile field, and apply advanced surgical technology skills.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (1 year of experience)
- Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- High school diploma or equivalent
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a sterile environment and monitor for breaks in sterility
- Scrub cases independently at an expert level for specialty and/or generalist case mix
- Apply surgeon preference lists to determine instruments, supplies, and equipment
- Assist with room setup, positioning, and OR turnover
- Inspect, prepare, and ensure sterilization of surgical instruments
- Support on-call cases when call is required for the role
- Participate in education, precepting, and orientation of new staff and students
- Collaborate with inter-professional teams and contribute to practice improvement initiatives
- Support departmental cost-saving efforts
