Registered Nurse - MedSurg

Location: Goldsboro, North Carolina

Job Summary

Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards in a hospital setting. Responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver care to patients with complex medical-surgical problems, addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required.
• Assess patient readiness to learn and use appropriate patient education materials.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate and revise patient care plans.
• Organize and prioritize patient care based on individual and family needs.
• Anticipate and assess discharge needs, supporting patient and family advocacy.
• Participate in unit goals, performance improvement, and promote cost-effective care.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment.
• Communicate effectively within the healthcare team and provide feedback to coworkers.
• Engage in professional growth activities and comply with healthcare standards and policies.
• Incorporate cultural and ethnic considerations into patient care planning.
• Apply research findings to clinical practice when appropriate.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers (AHA or ARC).
• Nursing Diploma or ADN/ASN from an accredited nursing school.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of MedSurg nursing experience.
• BSN or MSN from an accredited nursing school.
