Medical Lab Tech Travel Opportunity

Location: West Bend, Wisconsin

Job Summary

• Perform laboratory procedures independently using established protocols with minimal supervision.
• Responsible for quality control, instrument maintenance, specimen procurement, and processing.
• Conduct timely blood collection to ensure availability of test results.
• Interpret and verify test results, recognizing and investigating abnormal or inconsistent results promptly.
• Communicate potential problems or delays to leadership immediately to avoid compromising patient care.
• Manage workload effectively by prioritizing and multitasking; adapt to fluctuating workloads and assist with extra duties as needed.
• Maintain clean and organized workstations.
• Utilize LIS, EMR, and other tools for special projects and documentation.
• Perform and document quality control procedures and corrective actions as required.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments, including troubleshooting and contacting technical support when necessary.
• Participate actively in training students and new employees, assisting in curriculum development.
• Complete all required competency assessments and follow performance improvement plans as needed.
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, addressing customer inquiries and concerns thoroughly.
• Suggest process improvements and participate in error detection and prevention activities.
• Provide evidence of continuing education participation annually.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology, including an internship at an affiliated laboratory,
  OR
  Combined military experience and training that aligns with CLIA and CAP requirements.
• Minimum of 2 years of Medical Lab Technician experience.
• Medical Lab Technician experience within the last year.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of clinical laboratory experience.

Work Schedule

• Contract length: 14 weeks
• Hours per week: 40
• Shift: Primarily 1st shift (05:00-13:30 or 06:00-14:30), with some 2nd shift hours possible (11:00-19:30, 13:00-21:30, or 13:30-22:00)
• Weekend rotation and possible holiday shifts included
