Job Description

• Perform routine and specialized ultrasound examinations, adapting procedures to obtain specific diagnostic and/or therapeutic results under radiologist direction.
• Prepare patients for examinations and obtain accurate histories.
• Perform ultrasound procedures ensuring accurate and complete exams for patients of all ages.
• Use appropriate transducers and machine settings to enhance image quality.
• Evaluate finished images to ensure diagnostic quality for radiologist review.
• Assess abdominal arterial and venous systems using color imaging.
• Maintain and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment, including hardware and software.
• Set up sterile trays and assist radiologists with biopsies.
• Order labs and pathology tests as directed by radiologists.
• Maintain quality assurance, quality control, and quality improvement programs.
• Document and report equipment issues.
• Manage patient flow and enter patient information accurately into hospital information systems.
• Train and guide fellow technologists and students, fostering a professional and respectful learning environment.

Required Qualifications

• Ultrasound Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year.
• Associate's Degree in Ultrasound/Sonography or a Certificate of completion of an Ultrasound/Sonography program.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification.
• Experience assisting with biopsies.
