Registered Nurse - MedSurg/Telemetry

Location: Goldsboro, North Carolina
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing (Float Pool)
Shift: Nights
Hours: 12-hour shifts, 48 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards in a hospital setting. Responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process, with accountability to nursing leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver care to patients with complex medical problems, including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects.
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required.
• Organize and prioritize patient care based on patient and family needs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate and revise plans of care.
• Assess patient and family readiness to learn and provide appropriate education materials.
• Anticipate and plan for discharge needs.
• Participate in unit goals, performance improvement, and cost-effective care promotion.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment.
• Communicate effectively within and across departments.
• Stay aware of public policy and regulatory guidelines affecting healthcare.
• Engage in professional growth activities and provide feedback to coworkers.
• Incorporate cultural and ethnic considerations into patient care planning.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Intermediate Care experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing school

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN or MSN from an accredited nursing school.

Additional Information

• Must be comfortable working with intermediate care patients.
• This is a Float Pool position, requiring flexibility to work across units as needed.
