Radiology Specialist - X-Ray Tech
Location: Bellaire, Texas
Employment Type: Travel Clinical Allied
Job Description
- Perform routine and specialized radiographic procedures as requested by licensed independent practitioners for radiologist interpretation.
- Integrate scientific knowledge, technical skills, patient interaction, and compassionate care to produce diagnostic information.
- Demonstrate detailed understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- Maintain high accuracy in radiographic positioning and exposure techniques.
- Check exam rooms daily to ensure adequate stock and maintain inventory at required levels.
- Confirm patient identity using approved identifiers and verify pregnancy and informed consent status.
- Provide age-appropriate care and prepare patients properly for procedures.
- Assess contraindications such as medication risks, patient history, lab results, and preparation status.
- Determine type and dose of contrast agents based on patient age, weight, and medical status.
- Anticipate and respond to patient needs throughout the procedure.
- Operate and troubleshoot all required radiology equipment, including automated processors, film digitizers, R.I.S., and PACS.
- Demonstrate professional fundamental competencies and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Maintain confidentiality and provide courteous, supportive interactions with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
Schedule
- Day Shift: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
Contract Length
- Approximately 14 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technician license in Texas
- Technical diploma from a formal diagnostic Radiology program
- Minimum 3 years of Radiology Technician experience, including X-Ray Technician experience
- Radiology Technician experience within the last year
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Radiography) certification
- CMRT (Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist) licensed by the Texas Medical Board
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Additional Information
- Knowledge of radiology physics and procedures appropriate for patients from infancy through adulthood.
- Must be articulate, courteous, and supportive in all professional interactions.
- Ability to independently scan patients following established protocols.
- Commitment to excellent customer service and positive guest relations.
