Registered Nurse Dialysis

Overview

• Location: Livonia, Michigan
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week
• Shift hours: Discussed in interview

Required Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Valid RN license in Michigan
• Dialysis (2 years of experience)
• Dialysis experience within the last year

Key Responsibilities

• Perform ongoing patient assessments, including physical and psychosocial assessment
• Monitor and adjust dialysis therapy
• Administer and monitor medications according to policy
• Perform blood-drawing procedures
• Provide patient education, including modality education
• Document nursing care and patient responses
• Carry out doctors’ orders within role parameters
• Support charge nurse responsibilities and oversee care provided by clinical technicians
• Work as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Use cannulation, machine setup, and disinfection skills as part of dialysis care

Working Conditions

• Standing and walking most of the shift
• Lifting and pushing patients in stretchers and wheelchairs
• Lifting and carrying dialysate solution containers
• Possible exposure to hazardous wastes and materials
