Operating Room Technician

Location

Johnson City, New York

Contract Length

13 weeks

Schedule

• Day rotation shift
• Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
• Occasional overtime may occur
• Rotating call duty

Role Overview

• Supports the surgical team by maintaining sterile technique and asepsis
• Assists the surgeon during procedures, including gowning, gloving, draping, passing instruments, suctioning, retracting, and suturing under direction
• Maintains instrument counts, prepares supplies and equipment, and helps keep the operating room organized and safe
• Handles specimens per policy and helps with OR turnover between cases

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Surgical Technologist with 1 year of experience
• Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
• NBSTSA
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Experience in orthopedics
• Experience in gynecology
• Experience in general surgery
• Experience in podiatry
• Experience in ENT
• Experience in pain management

Preferred Experience

• Previous operating room experience
• Previous surgical technologist experience

Preferred Skills / Background

• Experience in orthopedics, gynecology, general surgery, podiatry, ENT, and pain management
