Sonographer
Overview
- Specialty: Obstetric/Gynecological sonography
- Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- Setting: Clinical allied health role performing OB/GYN ultrasound imaging, including Maternal Fetal Medicine-related work
Required Qualifications
- 1 year of Ob/Gyn Sonographer experience within the last year
- Experience working with Maternal-Fetal patients
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Bachelor or Associates Degree in Ultrasound or Allied Health
Required Skills
- Perform routine specialty procedures and real-time techniques, including M-mode, pulse Doppler, and color Doppler
- Strong understanding of fetal and cross-sectional anatomy and medical terminology
- Ability to perform vital signs, including pulse rate, blood pressure, respiration rate, and oxygen saturation
- Provide relevant technical information about the exam to the interpreting physician
- Familiarity with PACS and structured reporting systems
- Strong customer service and communication skills with staff, patients, and physicians
Key Responsibilities
- Perform obstetric and gynecological ultrasound imaging and procedures
- Prepare patients and assist physicians during procedures
- Obtain patient history and confirm supporting documentation before exams
- Explain testing procedures to patients, family members, and staff as needed
- Maintain accurate record keeping and timely order entry/exam tracking
- Follow infection control, safety, and compliance policies
- Communicate equipment maintenance needs and operate equipment safely
- Participate in peer review, process improvement, and department meetings
