Description

Sonographer

Overview

Specialty: Obstetric/Gynecological sonography
Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
Contract length: 13 weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Setting: Clinical allied health role performing OB/GYN ultrasound imaging, including Maternal Fetal Medicine-related work

Required Qualifications

1 year of Ob/Gyn Sonographer experience within the last year
Experience working with Maternal-Fetal patients
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
BLS issued by American Heart Association
Bachelor or Associates Degree in Ultrasound or Allied Health

Required Skills

Perform routine specialty procedures and real-time techniques, including M-mode, pulse Doppler, and color Doppler
Strong understanding of fetal and cross-sectional anatomy and medical terminology
Ability to perform vital signs, including pulse rate, blood pressure, respiration rate, and oxygen saturation
Provide relevant technical information about the exam to the interpreting physician
Familiarity with PACS and structured reporting systems
Strong customer service and communication skills with staff, patients, and physicians

Key Responsibilities

Perform obstetric and gynecological ultrasound imaging and procedures
Prepare patients and assist physicians during procedures
Obtain patient history and confirm supporting documentation before exams
Explain testing procedures to patients, family members, and staff as needed
Maintain accurate record keeping and timely order entry/exam tracking
Follow infection control, safety, and compliance policies
Communicate equipment maintenance needs and operate equipment safely
Participate in peer review, process improvement, and department meetings
