Description

Sonographer

Overview

  • Specialty: Obstetric/Gynecological sonography
  • Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
  • Setting: Clinical allied health role performing OB/GYN ultrasound imaging, including Maternal Fetal Medicine-related work

Required Qualifications

  • 1 year of Ob/Gyn Sonographer experience within the last year
  • Experience working with Maternal-Fetal patients
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • Bachelor or Associates Degree in Ultrasound or Allied Health

Required Skills

  • Perform routine specialty procedures and real-time techniques, including M-mode, pulse Doppler, and color Doppler
  • Strong understanding of fetal and cross-sectional anatomy and medical terminology
  • Ability to perform vital signs, including pulse rate, blood pressure, respiration rate, and oxygen saturation
  • Provide relevant technical information about the exam to the interpreting physician
  • Familiarity with PACS and structured reporting systems
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with staff, patients, and physicians

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform obstetric and gynecological ultrasound imaging and procedures
  • Prepare patients and assist physicians during procedures
  • Obtain patient history and confirm supporting documentation before exams
  • Explain testing procedures to patients, family members, and staff as needed
  • Maintain accurate record keeping and timely order entry/exam tracking
  • Follow infection control, safety, and compliance policies
  • Communicate equipment maintenance needs and operate equipment safely
  • Participate in peer review, process improvement, and department meetings
