Registered Nurse — Med/Surg

Summary

• Provides direct nursing care to assigned patients using the nursing process.
• Responsible for assessment, care planning, implementation, evaluation, documentation, patient safety, medication administration, and coordination with the healthcare team.

Required qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Med Surg (1 year of experience)
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with Epic

Key responsibilities

• Complete patient assessments and develop care plans
• Administer medications using the 5 rights
• Document nursing care and patient education
• Delegate and follow up on assigned patient care tasks
• Monitor patient safety measures, including fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, isolation precautions, and ambulation safety
• Support timely admissions, discharges, rounding, and patient testing
• Communicate and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
