Neurodiagnostic Technologist II
Location
Chapel Hill, North Carolina
Schedule
- Variable shift
- 36 hours per week
- 12-hour shifts
- Flex schedule: 7 PM–7 AM, 7 AM–7 PM, or 3x12s
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Role Summary
- Performs diagnostic testing in EEG, EMG, NCV, evoked potentials, and polysomnographic studies
- May provide instruction and guidance to other technologists in neurodiagnostic and/or sleep disorders settings
- Sets up rooms and equipment in hospital rooms, operating rooms, or clinics
- Calibrates and maintains equipment
- Reads and scores neurodiagnostic and/or polysomnographic tests
- Takes patient histories
- Instructs patients and families on test preparation, pre-test interviews, and follow-up appointments
- May perform polysomnographic testing with oxygen therapy and CPAP treatments
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from a program in Neurophysiology
- EEG Technologist experience within the last year
- 2 years of experience as an EEG Technologist
- EMG Technologist experience
- Polysomnographer experience
- R. EEG T., CLTM, R. EP T., CNIM, RPSGT, or RST
- BLS issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
