Pharmacist
Job Overview
- Location: Houston, Texas
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night shift, 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM
- Schedule: 7 shifts on / 7 shifts off
- Hours: 40 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Valid Pharmacist license in Texas
- Pharmacist (1 year of experience)
- Pharmacist experience within the last year
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Ph.D./Pharm.D. degree
Preferred Experience
- 2+ years of hospital staff pharmacist experience, specifically medication preparation
- 20 hours of training in compounding sterile products accredited by ACPE or ASHP
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the medication process to help prevent and resolve drug-related problems
- Verify medication doses based on diagnosis, weight/body surface area, allergies, and drug interactions
- Enter medication orders into the computer accurately
- Ensure medications dispensed to patients are correct
- Process medication orders and deliver doses within established guidelines
- Follow aseptic technique and infection control when preparing sterile products
- Complete annual re-certification and score at least 90% on aseptic technique/infection control skills and written exam
