• 5, 8-hour shifts or 4, 10-hour shifts
• Rotating call duty

Job Summary

Supports operating room procedures by maintaining sterile technique, assisting the surgeon, managing instruments and supplies, and helping ensure patient safety.

Required Qualifications

• Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
• 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience
• NBSTSA or CST
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Experience

• Previous operating room experience
• Previous surgical technologist experience

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile technique and asepsis
• Assist with gowning, gloving, draping, and passing instruments
• Anticipate surgeon needs for instruments, sutures, and equipment
• Keep the operative field organized
• Maintain accurate counts of sponges, tape, needles, dissectors, and instruments
• Prepare cases by assembling supplies and equipment
• Support safe operating room conditions and identify hazards
• Assist with suturing, retracting, and suctioning under direction
• Handle and identify specimens according to policy
• Turn over the operating room between cases efficiently
