Registered Nurse - Hospice

Job Overview

• Location: Basking Ridge, New Jersey
• Employment type: Travel nursing
• Shift: PM
• Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 7 hours per day
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Hospice Palliative Care RN with 2 years of experience
• Hospice Palliative Care RN experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Valid RN license in New Jersey
• BLS
• Experience in a Home Care setting
• Driver's License

Preferred Experience

• Three or more years of RN experience
• Experience working within a hospice agency or organization

Schedule

• Day position, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• Every other weekend
• One summer holiday and one winter holiday
• Comp days during the week when working the weekend

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and develop plans of care for patients and families
• Manage case care, including scheduling, interdisciplinary communication, and plan-of-care updates
• Complete admission, discharge, and revisit documentation
• Provide patient and family education using age-appropriate teaching methods
• Maintain medication reconciliation and safe medication management
• Support performance improvement activities, orientation, mentorship, and cross-training
• Attend required meetings and participate in assigned additional duties
