Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiation Therapist license in New Jersey
- Radiation Therapist experience within the last year
- ARRT (RT)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- True Beam experience
- Accelerator experience
- SIMS experience
- 1-2 years of experience
Preferred Experience
- 3–5 years of experience
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and monitor radiation treatment
- Obtain and evaluate portal images and implement corrective measures as needed
- Perform treatment calculations
- Prepare the room and equipment
- Inform and instruct patients about equipment and procedures
- Ensure informed consent
- Transfer and position patients
- Simulate treatment portals using conventional and/or CT simulator equipment
- Document setup instructions and related treatment details
- Assess diagnostic studies for field placement
- Prepare immobilization devices, shielding blocks, lead cut-outs, and bolus
- Perform quality assurance procedures for treatment units, simulators, film processor, and treatment accessories
- Monitor equipment operation and report malfunctions
- Respond to patient physical condition and special needs
- Assist in teaching radiation therapy students during clinical rotation
- Lift, push, and pull at least 25 lbs and stand at least 4 hours per day
