Description
RN - Endoscopy Center
Location
- Champaign, Illinois
Schedule
- Day shift
- 36 hours per week
- 4–9 hour day shifts with rotating start times, typically between 6:30 AM and 8:00 AM
Assignment Length
- 13 weeks
Role Summary
- Registered Nurse providing care for patients undergoing endoscopy procedures, including prep, intra-procedure, and recovery phases for routine GI procedures such as colonoscopy and upper endoscopy
- Delivers moderate sedation under physician direction
- Floats between the Endoscopy Center and Digestive Health Department
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Endoscopy (2 years of experience)
- Endoscopy experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Key Responsibilities
- Complete patient assessment, review health history, start IVs, and provide patient education
- Monitor and sedate patients during procedures
- Provide phase 1 and phase 2 recovery care
- Assist the CRNA during cases requiring anesthesia involvement
- Document nursing care and support patient safety reporting
- Collaborate with unit staff and delegate appropriately
