Mental Health Clinician
Location
East Elmhurst, New York
Contract
13 weeks
Schedule
8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Hours
35 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Valid Mental Health license in New York
- Mental Health (1 year of experience)
- Mental Health experience within the last year
- Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
Preferred Experience
- Experience conducting both assessment and treatment with adults with behavioral problems, substance use histories, and severe mental illness
- Inpatient or related experience
Key Responsibilities
- Provide mental health evaluations, crisis intervention, assessments, and follow-up care
- Determine and coordinate patient disposition for the appropriate level of mental health care
- Coordinate discharge planning with reentry social workers
- Complete required statistical reports and documentation
- Collaborate with correctional staff to support patient access, housing, and treatment disposition
- Coordinate care with other institutional programs
- Develop and lead group treatment
- Participate in clinical supervision, rounds, case conferences, and treatment planning
- May conduct psychological testing
- May supervise social work interns or student volunteers
Additional Requirements
- 2 forms of ID are needed
- Candidate must go through DOC and PREA directly with the client
