Electrophysiology Technologist
Overview
- 13-week contract
- Location: Hackensack, New Jersey
- Schedule: 11:00 AM–7:30 PM or 9:00 AM–7:30 PM
- Shift options: 5x8s or 4x10s
- Weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage required
Role Summary
- Assists physicians with invasive cardiac, peripheral diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures, including temporary and permanent pacemaker placement
- Assists with circulatory support devices such as IABP and Impella
- Supports electrophysiology procedures, including mapping, ablation, and implant devices
Required Qualifications
- Electrophysiology Technician experience within the last year
- 1 year of Electrophysiology Technician experience
- Experience in a Cath Lab setting
- Associate's degree in Applied Science, or graduation from an accredited Cardiovascular Technologist program, or graduation from a Radiologic Technologist program
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 3 months of employment
- Within 1 year of hire, must have successfully passed the RCIS exam given by CCI or hold a Radiologic Technologist License
Key Responsibilities
- Prepares and organizes equipment and sterile trays for procedures
- Assists with patient positioning, monitoring setup, vascular access, sheath removal, and hemostatic closure
- Calibrates and tests hemodynamic monitoring equipment and transducers
- Operates power injector and related sterile support equipment
- Records and analyzes hemodynamic data, cardiac output, and oximetry readings
- Maintains digital cine technology, image storage/retrieval, inventory, and equipment calibration
- Participates in catheterization lab call responsibilities
