Description
RN - BMC CRU
Overview
- Clinical Resource Unit (Float pool) nursing role in Normal, Illinois.
- Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM.
- 13-week contract.
- 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week.
Unit / Assignment Scope
- Floats to multiple inpatient units, including Medical-Oncology, Surgical-Ortho, Cardiovascular Care Unit, Progressive Care Unit, Mental Health Unit, and Acute Rehab.
- Provides care for diverse inpatient populations, including acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients.
- Provides post-operative care for complex surgical patients.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to float to multiple units and provide care to diverse patient populations.
- Ability to manage care for acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients.
- Ability to develop, implement, and modify patient care plans.
- Skill in medication administration and evaluating medication effects.
- Skill in preparing patients for procedures and managing post-operative care.
- Skill in IV venipuncture and blood administration.
- Ability to document care accurately using EMR.
- Ability to educate patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and assist in professional development of peers.
- Ability to handle conflict management and maintain professional communication with team members.
- Skill in critical thinking to assess patient status and take appropriate action.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members.
- Ability to prioritize patient safety and adhere to safety standards including fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, and ambulation safety.
- Ability to complete patient bedside shift reports, hourly rounding, and maintain updated patient communication boards.
- Ability to delegate appropriately and follow up on delegated tasks.
- College diploma of nursing.
- BLS (AHA).
- IL Nursing License.
