Rad Tech - CMH Radiology
Overview
- Location: Peoria, Illinois
- Setting: Radiology
- Shift: Evenings, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM
- Contract length: 20 weeks
Role Summary
- Performs diagnostic general radiological procedures using imaging equipment to assist in diagnosis of disease and injuries.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a related field or a certificate in Radiologic Technology
- Positive attitude and demonstrated willingness to assess and improve the work environment
- Ability to perform multiple tasks while coordinating patient flow and a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative
- BLS (American Heart Assoc.)
- IEMA Radiography License Illinois
- Radiography (R)(ARRT)
Key Responsibilities
- Performs radiographic procedures in accordance with department protocols and manufacturer guidelines
- Reviews cases with the radiologist when appropriate
- Reviews labs, patient history, and radiology orders for completeness, accuracy, and medical necessity
- Administers IV, oral, and rectal contrast when appropriate
- Screens for pregnancy and performs pregnancy testing if applicable
- Recognizes and responds to adverse or allergic reactions
- Transfers and verifies image data in PACS and provides necessary medical history for radiologist interpretation
- Maintains imaging equipment, supply inventories, and work area orderliness
- Reports equipment service needs and safety events promptly
- Assists in instruction of students and new staff
- May perform duties of Rad Tech Lead or Imaging Coordinator in their absence
- May assist other areas during downtimes and may perform duties of other cross-trained modalities within the department
