Mammography Technologist CWR
Overview
- Location: North Bergen, New Jersey
- Setting: Breast Center
- Schedule: Day shift, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
- Contract length: 17 weeks
Role Summary
- Performs mammography examinations following ACR requirements.
- Assists with breast ultrasound, stereotactic biopsy, breast localization, and other radiologic guided procedures in the Breast Center.
- Performs diagnostic and screening mammographic examinations for adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years prior experience as a Licensed Mammography Technologist.
- CPR/BLS certification.
- Experience with:
- Digital screening mammography
- Diagnostic mammography
- Breast positioning and compression techniques
- 2D and 3D mammography (Digital Breast Tomosynthesis)
- Magnification and spot compression imaging
- Implant-displaced (Eklund) imaging techniques
- Stereotactic breast biopsy assistance
- Needle localization procedure assistance
- Specimen radiography
- Breast anatomy and pathology knowledge
- Knowledge and application of BI-RADS®
- Image quality assessment and optimization
- Quality control (QC) testing
- Mammography equipment operation and troubleshooting
- Radiation safety and ALARA principles
- MQSA compliance and documentation
- ACR accreditation standards
- Patient screening and history collection
- Infection prevention and standard precautions
- EMR/Epic documentation
- PACS image management
- SecureView/Hologic workstation proficiency or equivalent
- Equipment calibration and daily QC
- Medical terminology
- HIPAA compliance
Preferred Qualifications
- Contrast-Enhanced Mammography (CEM) knowledge, if applicable
- Bone Density (DEXA) scanning, if applicable
Additional Notes
- Assists with quality control procedures and documentation for mammography in compliance with ACR, MQSA, NJ State, and FDA.
- Provides patient education, including pre- and post-procedure instructions.
