Description
PT - Peds - Therapy Annex
Location: Urbana, Illinois
Shift: Day
Schedule: 40 hours/week, 8 hours/day
Contract length: 13 weeks
Role Summary
Evaluates and treats patients of all ages, modifying the plan of care as appropriate. Serves as a role model in delivery of professional services and as a clinical resource for staff and students.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Pediatric Physical Therapist license in Illinois
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Bachelor's degree in physical therapy

Responsibilities
- Performs patient transfers with assistance as needed from bed, chair, and floor, if applicable
- Uses safe body mechanics to reduce risk of injury
- Designs and adjusts the plan of care based on patient response and available evidence
- Educates patients, families, caregivers, students, and other health care providers
- Evaluates clinical findings to determine physical therapy diagnoses and outcomes of care
- Performs examinations using reliable and valid methods relevant to the chief complaint, screening results, and history
- Produces documentation in accordance with the Clinical Process Policy
- Screens patients to determine the effectiveness of and need for therapy services, if appropriate
- Uses support personnel according to legal standards and ethical guidelines, and monitors their care with regular feedback
- Completes annual education as assigned to comply with DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program requirements, if applicable
- Evaluates impairments related to orthopedic and neurologic conditions and completes objective testing for range of motion, strength, and daily functional tasks
- Completes daily documentation and charging in therapy EMR
- Applies tape for stabilization, facilitation, or inhibition of movement
- Completes therapeutic modalities as appropriate, including ultrasound, interferential, and iontophoresis
- Communicates with the referring provider on patient progress and treatment recommendations
