Description

PT - Peds - Therapy Annex

Location: Urbana, Illinois
Shift: Day
Schedule: 40 hours/week, 8 hours/day
Contract length: 13 weeks

Role Summary

Evaluates and treats patients of all ages, modifying the plan of care as appropriate. Serves as a role model in delivery of professional services and as a clinical resource for staff and students.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Pediatric Physical Therapist license in Illinois
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • Bachelor's degree in physical therapy

Responsibilities

  • Performs patient transfers with assistance as needed from bed, chair, and floor, if applicable
  • Uses safe body mechanics to reduce risk of injury
  • Designs and adjusts the plan of care based on patient response and available evidence
  • Educates patients, families, caregivers, students, and other health care providers
  • Evaluates clinical findings to determine physical therapy diagnoses and outcomes of care
  • Performs examinations using reliable and valid methods relevant to the chief complaint, screening results, and history
  • Produces documentation in accordance with the Clinical Process Policy
  • Screens patients to determine the effectiveness of and need for therapy services, if appropriate
  • Uses support personnel according to legal standards and ethical guidelines, and monitors their care with regular feedback
  • Completes annual education as assigned to comply with DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program requirements, if applicable
  • Evaluates impairments related to orthopedic and neurologic conditions and completes objective testing for range of motion, strength, and daily functional tasks
  • Completes daily documentation and charging in therapy EMR
  • Applies tape for stabilization, facilitation, or inhibition of movement
  • Completes therapeutic modalities as appropriate, including ultrasound, interferential, and iontophoresis
  • Communicates with the referring provider on patient progress and treatment recommendations
