● About Facility: o 1 Medical Center Blvd, Winston-Salem, NC 27157 o 885 licensed beds o Level 1 Trauma Designation o Teaching Hospital: Yes, Academic Medical Center o Chest Pain Center o Stroke Center ● Department Information: o 10 rooms specific to Interventional Radiology o Average patients/day? 46-50 cases o Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years specific to IR/Neuro IR and at Level 1 Trauma o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes ● Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: o Interventional Radiology – Comprehensive Stroke Center o Stroke, Cancer, Tumors, blocked vessels -Peripheral, Carotid, IVC, SVC, etc. ▪ Neuro: Stroke, Ruptures, Subdural fistulas, any complex Neuro cases can be seen (3 Neurosurgeons currently on staff) ▪ Body: complex bleeds, several providers who have started Oncology services (Liver and other types of cancer), abscess drains and other interventions ● Required License, National Certification, Certifications (BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance: o IR Tech: BLS; ARRT-R or RCIS ● Skills required: o Scrubbing and assisting in procedures; being able to circulate/operate on the back end for the procedures (2 techs per case); being knowledgeable about equipment ● Support within the Department: o Tech extenders – 3 currently on staff (rotate thru dept. – transport/inventory) ▪ 2 per day o 2 Techs per Room o 4 Neuro providers – Neuro Radiologist and 3 surgeons o 5 Body Docs ● Technology/Equipment: o EMR: EPIC Encompass o Department specific Equipment: Siemens, GE and Philips imaging systems and GE US Units ● Orientation (facility and unit): o Up to 2 weeks in department, based on experience and comfort level ● Scheduling: o Schedule cycle: every 8 weeks ● Other notes: o Scrub Color: hospital provided o Parking: Free o Department Culture: Very green with new grads – need to be comfortable with new grads and preceptorship, if neededEmployer
