CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) license is required. Candidates must hold a valid RN license in the state of practice and be in good standing.

What you bring:

• Proven experience in medical-surgical and telemetry nursing, with the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coordinate comprehensive patient care and serve as a backup Charge Nurse when needed.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging in patient and family education to promote positive health outcomes.
• Ability to work cooperatively with interdisciplinary teams, including ancillary staff and other healthcare professionals.
• Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems, specifically Cerner.
• A patient-focused mindset with the ability to handle a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 or 1:5, managing an average daily census of 22 patients.
• Dependability and professionalism, with reliable transportation required as this is a community without public transit.

Preferred Education & Experience:

• At least 2 years of recent RN experience in a Med Surg or Telemetry unit.
• Previous experience working in a hospital setting with a similar patient population.
• Demonstrated ability to perform independently, with strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.

Additional Details:

• Guaranteed Hours: 12-hour night shifts with a 36-hour weekly guarantee.
• Weekly Stipend: $437.85 (taxable pay: $650.96)
• Start Date: August 12, 2025, with contract ending on September 3, 2026 (13 months).
• Orientation: 8-hour non-billable orientation.
• Work Requirements:
• May be asked to serve as a backup Charge Nurse.
• Participates in patient and family teaching.
• Must adhere to scheduling policies – no schedule accommodations, requests for time off should be noted at upload; RTO requests after upload are not approved.
• Up to 5 days of time off are accepted; less is preferable.
• Holiday coverage is required for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day, including weekends after these holidays.
• Local travelers (within 50 miles) are not eligible; candidates must have their own vehicle due to lack of public transportation.
