Description
Job Title: RN - Med Surg / Tele
Facility: Springfield Hospital
Shift: Nights, 12-hour nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Start Date: December 21, 2025
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Certification and License Requirements:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification (preferred but not mandatory)
Job Description:
Join the dedicated team at Springfield Hospital as a Registered Nurse in our Med Surg / Tele unit. This fast-paced, high-quality environment offers a unique opportunity to provide exceptional patient care across a variety of medical conditions. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering safe, compassionate, and efficient nursing care to adult patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in a Med Surg / Tele environment, managing a patient load of approximately 1:5.
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV therapy and other advanced procedures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and progress.
- Provide patient education and support to promote recovery and well-being.
- Assist with occasional PCU (Progressive Care Unit) responsibilities on a 3:1 patient ratio, including non-negotiable drip medication administration and charge nurse duties.
What You Bring:
- At least 1 year of recent RN experience in Med Surg or Tele units.
- Proven competency in managing IV drips and complex medication administration.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing patient needs and work under pressure during night shifts.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (ASN or BSN).
- Previous experience working in an acute care hospital setting.
- Experience with PCU patient care and managing complex medication regimens.
Additional Details:
- This assignment is scheduled to end on March 22, 2026, with guaranteed hours of 36 per week.
- The hourly rate is $429.31, with a taxable weekly pay of $642.42.
- Holiday RTO requests are not available; all scheduling requests are already reserved.
- Holiday multiplier of 1.25% applies; overtime will be compensated at regular rate.
- Travelers must be able to work charge nurse and drip responsibilities.
