Key Responsibilities:

• Assess patients to identify mental, physical, and spiritual needs, creating a comprehensive care plan.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Provide clear explanations and instructions to patients and their families, ensuring understanding and comfort.
• Demonstrate strong clinical judgment to recognize, report, and respond promptly to changes in patient conditions.
• Promote a healthy, respectful work environment by managing conflicts professionally and communicating effectively.
• Ensure compliance with Core Measures related to patient care and documentation standards.
• Participate actively in continuing education to stay current with best practices and improve patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate, complete medical records in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.

Certifications and Licenses (Required):

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Current CPR/BLS Certification

• Proven experience in a hospital setting, specifically within a PCU environment.
• Strong assessment skills and the ability to prioritize patient needs effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient-centered care.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent preferred.
• At least 2 years of recent experience in a PCU or similar acute care setting.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
