Job Title: RN - ICU
Facility: Carlsbad Medical Center
Shift: Nights, 6:30 PM – 6:30 AM
Start Date: 01/12/2025
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Certifications and Licenses:
- Valid RN Licensure in the state of practice is required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required.
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) preferred.
- Fingerprints clearance for all NM travelers is mandatory.
Job Description:
Join Carlsbad Medical Center as a Travel ICU Registered Nurse for an exciting 13-week assignment starting ASAP. This night shift position offers a dynamic environment with a patient-centered focus, located in a 12-bed ICU unit. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to critically ill patients, including ventilator management, titratable drips, medication mixing, and hygiene care. Floating to ER and Med-Surg departments is required, providing varied clinical experience.
This role requires a minimum of 2+ years of ICU experience, with hands-on expertise in vents, titratable drips, medication administration, and patient hygiene. Experience with MedHost EMR is preferred. This position involves working with a patient ratio of approximately 1:2-3, with no call responsibilities. Holidays are required, and scheduling may be accommodated in blocked shifts upon request. Scrubs can be any color.
Please note: This is an auto-offer role with no interviews. The rate is approved at $85/hr.
What You Bring:
- A minimum of 2 years of critical care ICU experience in a hospital setting.
- Proficiency in ventilator management, titratable drips, and medication preparation.
- Ability to adapt to floating assignments across ER and Med-Surg units.
- Strong patient care skills combined with excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Flexibility to work holidays and night shifts.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with a diverse patient population.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Prior experience in trauma, emergency, and medical-surgical units.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR), specifically MedHost.
- Certification in TNCC is highly desirable.
