Facility: Valley View Hospital
Shift: 12-hour day shift with rotating weekends and call rotation
Start Date: 02/12/2025
Assignment Length: Until 03/03/2026
Weekly Stipend: $1,246.00
Weekly Taxable Pay: $2,205.87
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Job Description:
Join our dedicated Labor & Delivery (L&D) team at Valley View Hospital, a facility renowned for its commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care and recent designation as a Pathway to Excellence. We are experiencing a high volume of births anticipated from May through July, with an expected 80 deliveries per month, and are seeking experienced RN travelers to support our team during this busy period.
As an L&D RN, you will provide exceptional care to mothers and newborns, including infants 32 weeks and larger, across multiple settings such as the labor room, OR, PACU, and postpartum units. Your role involves delivering evidence-based, couplet care, supporting a fun, collaborative team dedicated to creating positive birthing experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing comprehensive nursing care to obstetric patients and newborns.
- Assisting with labor, delivery, postpartum, and postpartum recovery procedures.
- Monitoring maternal and fetal wellbeing during labor and delivery.
- Ensuring safe and compassionate care aligned with evidence-based practices.
- Collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver optimal patient outcomes.
- Participating in call rotations, which typically involve one 12-hour shift every six weeks, subject to change.
Certifications and Licenses:
- Current Colorado RN license or compact license to practice in Colorado (in good standing).
- American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) — required.
- American Heart Association ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) — required.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) — required.
- STABLE (Shock, Tune-Up, Updates to Baby and Early Discharge) certification — required.
- Immunization: Flu vaccine — no exemptions accepted.
What You Bring:
- Proven experience in Labor & Delivery nursing, with a strong understanding of obstetric and neonatal care.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, managing multiple patients simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends and call hours.
- Commitment to evidence-based practices and continuous learning.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or higher preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent L&D nursing experience in a hospital setting.
- Prior experience working in a Level I or Level II obstetric unit is a plus.
