Description
Job Title: Travel RN - Stepdown
Facility: McLaren Northern Michigan
Shift: Nights, 36-hour guarantee - 3x12's - 7 p.m. – 7 a.m.
Start Date: 01/12/2025
Assignment Duration: Until 28/02/2026
Weekly Stipend: $1,310.70
Weekly Taxable Pay: $1,950.02
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description:
Level 2 North at McLaren Northern Michigan is a dynamic 28-bed Medical Surgical Unit serving a diverse patient population, including general and vascular surgery, bariatric surgery, plastic surgery, trauma, and stroke care. This fast-paced environment offers enriching learning opportunities for both new graduate and seasoned nurses dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

The unit boasts an active and engaged Unit-Based Council (Shared Governance) that fosters a team-oriented and positive work culture. Using clinical pathways, patient education, and interactive communication, our interdisciplinary care team collaborates seamlessly to address all aspects of patient care. These positive and progressive attitudes promote a collaborative environment aimed at delivering excellent patient outcomes.
What You Bring:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan or eligible for licensure.
- Certification in BLS (Basic Life Support) required; additional certifications such as ACLS are preferred.
- At least one year of RN experience in a medical-surgical or stepdown unit is preferred, although recent graduates with strong clinical backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Strong commitment to patient safety, quality care, and continuous professional development.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Previous experience in a medical-surgical, trauma, or stepdown unit is highly desirable.
- Experience with clinical pathways, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Certifications & Licenses:
- Valid Michigan RN license or eligibility for licensure.
- BLS certification (required).
- ACLS certification (preferred but not mandatory).
