JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a highly skilled ICU Registered Nurse to join our team at Memorial Hospital in Bakersfield on a travel basis. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 full years of recent ICU experience, with previous travel or acute care experience preferred. This role involves providing exceptional critical care to diverse patient populations during overnight shifts, with the first to float to other units as needed. Candidates must be comfortable adapting to various clinical settings and maintaining high standards of patient safety and care.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering comprehensive ICU nursing care for critically ill patients.
- Monitoring and managing complex patient conditions utilizing advanced technology.
- Collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
- Documenting patient care accurately and in accordance with hospital policies.
- Ensuring compliance with all safety and infection control protocols.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Minimum of 3 years of recent ICU experience in a fast-paced hospital setting.
- Strong critical thinking and clinical assessment skills.
- Ability to handle high-acuity patients with confidence.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Must be adaptable and able to float to other units as directed.
- Previous travel experience is mandatory; first-time travelers or duos are not eligible.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred but not required.
- Experience working in California healthcare facilities.
- Proven ability to work efficiently under pressure in critical care environments.

- Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications.
- A minimum of three years’ recent ICU experience, demonstrating a strong foundation in critical care.
- Flexibility to adapt to different hospital units and patient needs.

- Must have prior travel nursing experience and a track record of professionalism in diverse healthcare settings.
