Job Summary and Qualifications

As an RN Trauma Performance Improvement (PI) Coordinator, you will lead the Trauma Program’s work to keep care safe and high‑quality from the time a patient arrives until they leave the hospital. You will work with the Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Program Director to review cases, analyze system performance, and use data to make changes that improve patient care. Your role ensures care meets national ACS standards, supports program requirements, and shows our commitment to providing safe, reliable, and high‑quality trauma care. 

Your role will include:

  • Responds to trauma bays for all Trauma Alerts 
  • Responsible for trauma bay readiness  
  • Modelsbehaviorat all times, andmentorstrauma nurse responders 
  • Coordinates and triages incoming trauma patients, and reviews/evaluates all activations for triage level appropriateness  
  • Functions as a clinical liaison for pre-hospital partners  
  • Responsible for documentation compliance; performs audits and provides feedback 
  • Assiststo coordinate admission consultations and response times for time-sensitive needs  
  • Facilitates trauma bay time outs and debriefings in collaboration with primary surgeon 
  • Monitors care provision for trauma patients holding in ED for admission 
  • Responds to in-house trauma patients’ critical needs  
  • Daily rounding on in-house trauma patients; Provides outstanding customer service to trauma patients and their families.  
  • Identifies and reports on trauma audit filters 

Job Requirements:  

  • Associates Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing Required, Bachelor Degree in Nursing preferred 
  • Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required. Compact license holders have60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation. 
  • BLS-AHA Provider issued cardrequiredwithin30 days of start 
  • 3+yearsofexperienceas an RN in an ED setting required 
  • ACLS, TNCC, PALS, ENPC to be obtained within 6 months of hir
