Job Summary and QualificationsThe CT Technologist is responsible for performing CT exams in accordance with standards and practice set forth by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology and Radiology Department policies and procedures. The CT Tech demonstrates knowledge of human anatomy, disease processes and functions, patient care, positioning, principles of radiographic sciences, radiation protection, quality assurance, specialized techniques, and adheres to all Corporate Radiation Right policies.Responsibilities of the CT Technologist- Perform CT - Computed Tomography Procedures in accordance with standards and practice set forth by the American Registry for Radiologic Technology and Radiology Department policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate knowledge of human anatomy, disease processes and functions, patient care, positioning, principles of radiographic sciences, radiation protection and specialized techniques.
- Verify written order matches requisition prior to performing exam.
- Follow appropriate protocol for the exam ordered.
- Administer contrast material using proper technique.
- Manage patient flow to ensure that exams are prioritized appropriately and performed efficiently.
- Communicate pertinent information to interpreting radiologist in a timely manner.
- Maintain a well-cleaned and supplied department at all times.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Florida State Registered Radiologic Technician
- Registered ARRT (R) (CT), required
- Vocational School Graduate
- 1 year of CT Technologist experience, preferred
HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital is a purpose-guided healthcare provider. We are a four-story, 150,000-square-foot hospital. We have 70 private beds and a six-bed private ICU. We provide a full range of acute care services including emergency services, inpatient and outpatient diagnostic imaging, and inpatient and outpatient surgery. Other services include cardiac catheterization, laboratory, pharmacy, and a full range of support services. Our Emergency Department (ED) is approximately 14,500 square feet. Our ED consists of 22 private treatment rooms, an EMS entrance, and a helicopter pad.
