Job Summary:
The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for a group of patients for a designated time frame. Care is provided using the nursing process, current trends, technology, and available resources within the institution's philosophy. The RN collaborates with critical care teams and hospitalists for Advanced Care patients, ensuring effective communication with patients and families through meaningful hourly rounding, bedside shift reports, and whiteboards.
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
• Illinois state RN License in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (American Heart Association)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Additional Information:
• Monitors EMU patients 24/7 for seizure activity
• Ensures patient and employee safety by addressing safety hazards
• Maintains accurate documentation of nursing care
• Develops and modifies care plans based on patient needs and continuous evaluation
• Provides constructive feedback to peers and engages in professional development
