Job Summary:
The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for a group of patients during a designated time frame. Care is provided using the nursing process, current trends, technology, and available resources within the institution's philosophy.

Key Functions:
 

• Performs responsibilities and duties specific to the unit's scope of service.
• Implements procedures and theories related to the area of practice.
• Maintains accurate documentation of nursing care to ensure integration of information for the healthcare team.
• Completes initial patient assessments upon admission and develops appropriate care plans based on patient and family needs.
• Implements care plans, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.
• Modifies care plans based on continuous evaluation.
• Ensures patient and employee safety by reporting and addressing safety hazards and incidents.
• Communicates effectively to resolve issues and offers constructive feedback for peer development.
• Identifies personal learning needs and takes initiative to address them.
• Fulfills all departmental competency requirements.

Required Qualifications:
 

• Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
• Illinois state RN License in good standing.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).

Preferred Qualifications:
 

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
