Job Summary:
Perform scrub duties and maintain sterile supplies and technique. Assist in nursing care and preparation of surgical patients, including assembling and organizing case carts based on doctor’s preference lists. Provide appropriate instrumentation, suture, and supplies as requested, ensuring a sterile environment. Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and counting sponges, needles, blades, and instruments per established policies. Handle specimens, implants, dressings, soiled instruments, contaminated materials, and sharps according to recommended standards of practice. Support timely turnover of rooms, including cleanup, replacement, and restocking of supplies and equipment. Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCL Health while adhering to service behavior standards. May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications based on business needs. On-call duties may be required during scheduled shifts.

Required Qualifications:
• Regular attendance during scheduled business hours or shifts.
• Ability to work nights and/or weekends for identified positions.
• Two (2) years of Surgical Tech experience.
• One (1) year of CVOR scrubbing experience.
• At least one (1) year of cardiovascular experience as a Surgical Tech.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduation from a formal, accredited surgical technologist program.
• Training in the US military may substitute for formal surgical technologist training.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications:
• One (1) year of clinical experience in an accredited hospital.
