Description
Travel Speech-Language Pathologist – Acute Care | $2,320 weekly (Stipend package option available to help maximize your take-home pay) | 40 hours/week
We are seeking an experienced Travel Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support an acute care hospital environment, working with a diverse patient population across multiple medical and surgical units. Ideal candidates are comfortable managing complex swallowing and cognitive-communication cases, including ICU and neurological patients.
Job Details:
Location: Canton, Georgia, 30115 (No local candidates within 50 miles)
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (varies), 40 Guaranteed Hours
Weekend Requirement: Minimum 2 weekends every 4 weeks (facility prefers 4/4 weekends)
Requirements:
2+ years of experience in Speech-Language Pathology specialty
Active SLP license
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
Prior acute care hospital experience strongly preferred
Preferred Skills
Experience with swallowing diagnostics such as:
• Modified Barium Swallow Study (MBS)
• Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES)
Unit Information:
Setting: Acute Care Speech Therapy Department
Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics across medical and surgical units
Common Diagnoses / Conditions:
• Stroke and neurological disorders
• Dysphagia
• Respiratory compromise
• Cognitive-communication deficits
• General medical and surgical conditions
