Description

*** The candidate must be 100 miles and above from work location, any candidate below 100 miles will not be qualified for this role*** Title: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Acute Care Hospital
Location: Goodyear, AZ
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day 3x8-Hour (08:00 – 16:30) | Tuesday–Thursday (possibility for extra shift)
Experience:
• Minimum 1 year acute care SLP experience in inpatient and outpatient hospital settings (no new grads; clinician will work independently)
• Experience with oncology-related care, including head & neck cancer patients, post-surgical recovery, medically compromised patients, oxygen dependency, breathing and swallowing assessment
• Experience in swallowing and speech disorders: dysarthria, dysphagia, fluency disorders, voice disorders, hearing impairments, and cognitive rehab (chemo-related)
• Experience performing Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS) including conducting, interpreting results, and patient education
• Experience with advanced dysphagia management: International Dysphagia Diet, hyolaryngeal exercises, compensatory strategies, Passy Muir valves, trach/vent, suctioning, thickening agents, diet modifications
• Experience with complex adult neuro/medical populations: tracheostomy, ventilator-dependent patients, nervous system disorders, mental/behavioral/neurodevelopmental disorders
• Experience in acute care operations and documentation, including EPIC charting, interdisciplinary coordination, dietician collaboration, discharge planning, reassessments, point-of-service documentation, Medicare/Medicaid billing, and SLP evaluation coding
License: AZ State SLP License
Certification: Required: BLS, MBS ImP | Preferred: CCC-SLP, FEES
