Title: Certified Surgical Technician
Duration: 13 Weeks (With a possibility of extension)
Schedule: Day Shift | 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM or 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Location: Akron, OH 44307
Job Description:
The Certified Surgical Technician (CST) is responsible for supporting the surgical team by preparing operating rooms, maintaining a sterile environment, and assisting during a variety of surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will have recent operating room experience, strong knowledge of sterile techniques, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical setting.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Prepare and organize operating rooms with necessary surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards.
• Assist surgeons, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel during operative procedures.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide instruments and supplies promptly.
• Perform surgical counts of sponges, needles, and instruments according to established protocols.
• Handle, clean, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment as required.
• Assist with patient positioning, preparation, and transfer while maintaining patient safety.
• Collaborate with the perioperative team to ensure efficient workflow and quality patient care.
• Participate in on-call coverage if interested and approved by the hiring manager.
Required Qualifications:
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Surgical Technician experience required.
• Strong understanding of sterile processing, surgical instrumentation, and aseptic techniques.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operating room environment with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
