Description
Immediate Registered Nurse (RN) - Hospice contract opportunity with our Hospice partner facility in Coos Bay, OR.
Pay Rate:
- $67.15/hr - $2,686/week (Travel pay package)
- Local pay package available
Work Schedule:
- 8:00am - 5:00pm (Day Shift)
- 40 hour guarantee per week
- Flexible to work weekends
Contract Details:
- 13 week contract (extensions likely)
Job Details:
- Treat patients and their loved ones in a supportive, dignified and kind manner at all times.
- See death as a natural part of life and accept the hospice philosophies of: quality rather than quantity of life; comfort when there is no cure; the right of self-determination
- Exhibit safety consciousness at all times and report unsafe conditions to the Nursing Manager and the person within the organization responsible for safety issues.
- Promote and coordinate multidisciplinary care provided in an interdisciplinary fashion, engaging with other professional care team members as needed to provide full and effective service in the physical, emotional, social and spiritual dimensions of care.
- Review documentation for all new patients assigned, and communicate with admissions staff, or other members of the Care Team, as appropriate to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide required or routine nursing visits based on the needs of current caseload and as requested to cover for other nurses. Perform follow-up visits or check-in phone calls based on the assessed or reported needs of the situation.
- Educate patients, families, caregivers and facility staff on end-of-life issues and practices. Provide post-activity report to loved ones as appropriate.
Qualifications:
- RN license
- Extensive clinical experience in hospice & palliative medicine with proficiency in pain management and symptom control.
- Knowledge of terminally ill patients and their families along with understanding of hospice; ability to apply knowledge of the special needs of hospice patient and families.
