Work Schedule
1.0 FTE, 100%, day shift position. This position will work at the UW Health Tissue and Donation building located at 448 Science Dr. in Madison, WI. The schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:30AM – 5:00PM. Some travel to other hospitals and attending events will also be required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

This impactful role offers the opportunity to oversee key components of the UW Health Organ and Tissue Donation Program, introduce innovative ideas, and help shape the future of support and services for donor families.

 

We are seeking an OTD Aftercare Coordinator to:

  • Provide bereavement and grief support directly to donor families
  • Support, guide, and provide direction for the donor family aftercare program of UW Organ and Tissue Donation (UW OTD)
  • Serve as a key liaison between donor families and various stakeholders, including hospital staff, partner organizations, and community groups
  • Gather donor family feedback, provide observation and feedback, and collaborate with leadership to engage in process improvement process
  • Maintain and facilitate the private donor family services social media group page

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in social work, nursing, grief/bereavement care or related field Required
  • Master's Degree in social work, nursing, grief/bereavement care or related field Preferred

 

Work Experience

  • 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting Required
  • Experience in organ procurement or transplantation Preferred
  • Experience in end of life settings, Hospice, or ICU setting Preferred

 

Licenses & Certifications

  • Must possess a current, valid driver’s license issued by the individual’s state of residence.
    Must be at least 21 years old and have a minimum of three (3) years of driving experience to operate a Personal Vehicle, Patient/Visitor Vehicle, or standard UW Health Fleet Vehicle. Upon Hire Required
