IMC - Registered Dietitian

Location: Brooklyn, NY
Job Summary:
The dietitian plans and delivers nutritional care to patients according to up-to-date clinical standards and judgment. They perform as a member of the multidisciplinary care team and act as a liaison between the dietary patient services staff and the medical team. Responsibilities include screening newly admitted patients to identify those at nutritional risk, completing nutritional assessments on in-patient units, and adhering to departmental policies and procedures. The role requires independent judgment under the supervision of the Patient Experience Manager/Clinical Nutrition Manager and General Manager of Food and Nutrition Services.
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency with Office PCs, desktops, and laptop software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Familiarity with menu management software and electronic medical systems, specifically CBORD and Meditech.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, talk, sit, hear, lift, and bend for prolonged periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.
- Completion of an ACEND-accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD).
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- Completion of an ACEND-accredited Dietetic Internship (DI) with a minimum of 1,000 supervised practice hours.
- Proof of passing the national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) with current Registered Dietitian status.
- Participation in continuing education requirements to maintain registration (15 continuing education credits annually).
Preferred Certifications & Licensure:
- Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist (CDN) in the state of New York.
