Job Title: BHMC - Director, Nursing, Behavioral Health
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Contract Length: Not specified
Job Summary:
Reports to the Senior Vice President, Patient Care Services/CNO. Responsible for identifying, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating nursing standards of practice and operational quality improvement activities, including all Human Resource and Educational activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Critical thinking, math, and computer skills (Excel & Word)
- Effective application of TQM teams, quality measures, clinical guidelines, and process management initiatives
- Knowledge of NYSDOH, JCAHO, and other regulatory requirements
- Competence in producing trend and evaluation data and documentation
- Familiarity with quality improvement philosophy models, processes, and tools
- Leadership and administrative skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Decision-making and problem-solving abilities
- Physical ability to work in a demanding, high-stress environment
- Ability to flex working hours
- Current NY State RN License
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- TRUST certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree
Required Education:
- Master’s Degree in nursing or related field
OR
- Minimum ten (10) years of relevant administrative/supervisory experience
Additional Information:
