Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – School Setting

Location: Hueneme, CA
Start Date: December 1, 2025
Contract Length: 25 weeks
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week (AM shift)
Setting: In-person only

Position Overview

Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will provide occupational therapy services to students in a school setting. Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, conducting standardized assessments, collecting data, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Minimum Requirements

• Current California COTA license
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a COTA (school experience preferred)
• Pediatric experience strongly preferred
• Current CPR certification (if applicable)
• TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (as required)
• Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Additional Details

• Openings: 2 positions
  • One serving preschool students at a single site
  • One serving elementary students across 2–3 sites
• Caseload: TBD
• Pay Rates:
  • Local Pay Rate: $55/hr
  • Travel Weekly Pay: $2,600

Responsibilities

• Deliver occupational therapy services under OT supervision
• Implement individualized treatment plans
• Document progress and maintain compliance with professional standards
• Collaborate with school staff and families
