Location: Lakewood, WA – Psychiatric Facility
Start Date: January 20, 2026
End Date: March 27, 2026
Contract Length: 10 Weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM
Pay Rate: $30/hour
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team at a psychiatric facility in Lakewood, WA. This short-term contract role involves supporting dental care for patients in a behavioral health setting. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working in a unique clinical environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with facility protocols.
- Provide patient support and education as needed.
- Uphold infection control and safety standards.
Requirements
- Active Washington State Dental Assistant registration.
- Previous experience in dental assisting (psychiatric or correctional experience preferred but not required).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and maintain professionalism in a behavioral health setting.

The Dental Assistant provides support to the dentist duringpatient care and completes the preparation of the room and dentaltools/equipment. The Dental Assistant complete intake paperwork, update patientrecords, sterilize and organize dental tools, and assist during any dentalprocedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma or its equivalent
- Current License/Certificate within state of practice
- One year experience as Dental Assistant preferred
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
