Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – $55/hr – Port Hueneme, CA – 10-Week School Assignment

Position Overview:
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) provides school-based occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. This role includes implementing treatment plans, supporting standardized assessment data collection, and documenting services to help students develop fine-motor, sensory, and functional skills necessary for success in the school environment.

Assignment Details:

Location: Port Hueneme, CA
Start Date: April 6, 2026
Duration: 10 weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Hours: 40 hours per week
Pay Rate: $55/hour
Modality: In-person
Openings: 1 position

Details of Assignment:

• Split assignment across two school sites
• Preschool students supported 3 days per week
• Elementary-aged students supported 2 days per week
• Flexibility required due to multi-site schedule
• Virtual interview required
• Caseload details discussed during interview

Responsibilities:

• Provide OT services as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
• Implement individualized treatment plans
• Support fine-motor development, sensory processing, and functional skills
• Assist with standardized assessment data collection
• Document therapy services and student progress
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school staff
• Promote student participation in classroom activities

Requirements:

• Active COTA license/certification in the state of assignment
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Pediatric or school-based experience preferred
• CPR, TB screening, and health certificate if required
• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years old
