Description
The Unlicensed Social Worker/Counselor/Mental Health Clinician provides counseling to patient’s in a variety of settings including medical facilities, hospitals, clinics, learning centers and other organizations that are in need of assistance.
About the Role
The Clinician provides addiction treatment services in a residential setting, supporting clients through assessment, treatment planning, and individual and group therapy. This role works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to help individuals achieve lasting recovery and build healthier futures.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct screenings, intakes, assessments, and treatment planning
Provide individual and group psychotherapy
Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation
Collaborate with medical, clinical, and justice-system professionals
Participate in care team meetings and treatment reviews
Maintain ethical standards, HIPAA compliance, and licensure requirements
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling or related field
NH licensure preferred (or willingness to work toward licensure)
2–4 years of experience in mental health and substance use treatment
Strong communication, clinical judgment, and organizational skills
Minimum Requirements:
- Licensing/Certification according to state/facility/contract requirements
- The Counselor may possess a Master’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Counseling, Nursing or other Human Development Major
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
