School-Based Physical Therapist
Seattle Public School System | Seattle, WA
The Seattle Public School System is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist to support students across a dynamic school environment. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping students achieve greater independence, mobility, and success in their educational setting.
Position Overview
The Physical Therapist will be responsible for evaluating students and providing therapy services aligned with individualized plans of care. Services are delivered in accordance with professional best practices and applicable physician orders, with thorough documentation to support student progress and compliance.
This position is a leave replacement with the potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations for students
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans of care
- Provide direct therapy services in a school-based setting
- Document services, progress, and outcomes accurately and timely
- Collaborate with educators, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district requirements
Assignment Details
- Setting: School-Based (Pre-K through age 22)
- School Year: 2026–2027
- Schedule: 37.5 hours per week
- Start Date: August 31, 2026
- Contract Length: 4 months (extension possible)
- Caseload: PreK–22-year-old students
- Charting System: Not specified
- Interview Process: 30–45 minute Teams interview
Minimum Qualifications
- Current Washington State Physical Therapist License
- Educational Staff Associate (ESA) Certification
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program
- Minimum of one (1) year of professional Physical Therapy experience preferred
- CPR certification (if applicable)
- Compliance with TB screening, health certificate, and all federal, state, and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
